Internships are a huge area of debate in modern business circles. Should we hire temporary interns or permanent full-time employees? Should we pay interns in cash or experience? What kind of responsibilities can we trust our interns with? Considering that companies now function in a challenging regulatory, legal, and cybersecurity environment, these questions are completely valid.
The Emerging India Forum (TEIF) offers an student skill development programme called Sakshum Student Empowerment Programme. This program is supported by Prime Infotech Solution & Lions Club of Mumbai Shining The aim of this unique programme is two-fold:
- To connect hardworking students with Indian companies looking to hire competent and learning-oriented interns for temporary projects
- To provide talented students with opportunities to learn skills through various learning opportunities and on-the-job before they actually step into the corporate world
Interns who join the Sakshum Student Empowerment Programme help drive TEIF’s regular, ongoing, and popular events including Koffee Conversation and Advantage Learning Masterclasses. They also support TEIF with marketing, communications, content writing, and many other aspects that determine the success of these events. Sakshum interns gain practical, hands-on work experience and a participation certificate that strengthen their academic and professional profiles.
Many Sakshum members also intern with companies all over Mumbai, providing support with a number of tasks. They thus enable their senior colleagues and full-time staff to focus on other higher-value tasks that benefit the organisation. Occasionally, our interns also join brainstorming sessions, and share ideas about company strategies, digital marketing planning, promotional activities, sales and pre-sales, and more.
